Implementation of the action “Organization of visits in fish farms in Albania”  for the ECO-FISH Project

We inform that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vlora Region, PB3 in
the ECO-FISH Project “Ecological footprint in cross-border marine fish farming in
Sagiada (Greece) and southern Albania” has implemented Visits in fish farms in the
context of Deliverable 5.3.2 “Organization of visits in fish farms in Albania”.

The Visits in the fish farm of the company Alb Adriatico took place on 1st of
August 2020. It was attended by 30 participants and provided professional and
specialized information in various business topics that included: the production
process and related environmental issues, development prospects and
problems the fish farm faces, issues of competition, promotion and advertising
of products and services, institutional and structural changes required, and,
presentation of structure and operation, as well as, human resources and
upgrading prospects.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vlora Region organizes summer school
on topics related to aquaculture issues, in the context of the project “Ecological
footprint in cross- border marine fish farming in Sagiada (Greece) and southern
Albania (ECO-FISH)” of the Interreg IPA II Cross Border Cooperation Programme
“Greece Albania 2014-2020”. The summer schools’ duration will be 20 hours.

Implementation of the action  “Organization of visits in fish farms in Greece” for the ECO-FISH Project

 

We inform that the Chamber of Thesprotia, PB2 in the ECO-FISH Project “Ecological footprint in cross-border marine fish farming in Sagiada (Greece) and southern Albania” has implemented two (2) Visits in fish farms in the context of Deliverable 5.2.2 “Organization of visits in fish farms in Greece”.

 

The two Visits in the fish farm of the company SKALOMA S.A. took place on 31st of October and 1st of November 2019. They were attended by 15 participants each and provided professional and specialized information in various business topics that included: the production process and related environmental issues, development prospects and problems the fish farm faces, issues of competition, promotion and advertising of products and services, institutional and structural changes required, and, presentation of structure and operation, as well as, human resources and upgrading prospects.

Implementation of the action “Summer School for Stakeholders in Greek Area” for the ECO-FISH Project

We inform that the Chamber of Thesprotia, PB2 in the ECO-FISH Project “Ecological footprint in cross-border marine fish farming in Sagiada (Greece) and southern Albania” has implemented two (2) Summer Schools in the context of Deliverable 5.2.1 “Summer School for Stakeholders in Greek Area”, which aimed to raise awareness on issues related to marine aquaculture systems and their sustainability among the participants. More specifically, the summer schools’ implementation aimed at the professionals in the aquaculture sector gaining knowledge that will assist them in upgrading their production.

 

The themes that were presented during summer schools included presentation of fish farming sector, aquaculture legislation, environmental issues and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in marine fish farming and application of LCA method in aquaculture and management options.

 

The 1st summer school took place on 21, 22, 23 October 2019 and the 2nd on 24, 25, 29 October 2019, with 25 participants each.

INVITATION TO SUMMER SCHOOLS
OF THE ECO-FISH PROJECT

The Chamber of Thesprotia organizes 2 summer schools on topics related to aquaculture issues, in the context of the project “Ecological footprint in cross-border marine fish farming in Sagiada (Greece) and southern Albania (ECO-FISH)” of the Interreg IPA II Cross Border Cooperation Programme “Greece Albania 2014-2020”. The summer chools’ duration will be 20 hours.

Summer schools will be attended by 25 individuals each, from the professional aquaculture industry, competent authorities and scientists and will be held on the following dates:

Summer school Α: 21, 22, 23 October 2019 (Duration of total training: 20 hours)
Summer school Β: 24, 25, 29 October 2019 (Duration of total training: 20 hours)

Summer schools will take place at the Conference Center of the Chamber of Commerce of Thesprotia, in Igoumenitsa (55 Ag. Apostolon Str., ground floor – side entrance). The topics that will be presented during the two summer schools are common and are presented below:
 Presentation of fish farming sector
 Aquaculture legislation
 Environmental issues and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in marine fish farming
 Application of LCA method in aquaculture and management options.

Visit Α: 31 October 2019, time: 9:00-15:00

The Project ‘Ecological footprint in cross-border marine fish farming in Sagiada (Greece) and southern Albania’ (ECO-FISH) aims, through specific pilot actions, to reduce the environmental footprint of aquaculture in Greece and Albania, with a view to sustainable management of natural resources and control of microclimatic conditions during production.
ECO-FISH is implemented under the “Interreg IPA II Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Greece-Albania 2014-2020” and is co-funded by the European Union and by National Funds of Greece and Albania.

The 2nd meeting of the ECO-FISH Project was implemented

 

 

 

In the context of the Project ECO-FISH – “Ecological footprint in cross-border marine fish farming in Sagiada (Greece) and southern Albania”, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vlora Region organized the 2nd management meeting on Wednesday, 17/07/2019 and Thursday, 18/07/2019. Representatives of all project beneficiaries participated (University of Ioannina, Chamber of Thesprotia, SEEP Albania and RAF Foundation).

The event was held at the premises of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vlora Region and was coordinated by the Chairman of the Chamber, Mr. Arben Breshani.

The meeting proceeded according to the agenda and focused on the actions that have been implemented, the progress and the future steps of the ECO-FISH project, and the difficulties that the partnership faced during the implementation.
